VEIL.AI was thrilled to participate in the Kuopio Health Insights 2024 event on August 13-14th in warm and sunny Kuopio, Eastern Finland. The event gathered Finnish and international leaders and decision-makers in the health and wellbeing sector, with a program focused on Pharma Development, Health Data and Analysis, and Digital Health. During these two days we heard extremely interesting presentations and insights from key players in industry, research, and the public sector, ending the first day with the opportunity to network during a cruise on the beautiful Lake Kallavesi.
One highlight of the event was in the utility of data for prevention and informed decision making. In order to enable proactive decision-making and preventative treatment in a cost-effective way, extensive utilization of data is needed. Many discussions at the event centered around the fact that all the necessary data and tools already exist, but more pioneers who are ready to try new solutions are needed.
Another takeaway from the discussion was the need for incentivization of innovation in welfare areas. In order to promote the birth and introduction of new innovations in welfare areas, financial instruments are needed— for example, collecting fees from clinical trials that are directly channeled into welfare areas and later utilized for innovation.
During the Health Data and Analytics session on the second day of the conference, Lauri Kuronen (CEO of VEIL.AI Denmark ApS) had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion with Prof. Janne Martikainen (UEF House of Effectiveness), Markus Kalliola (Sitra), and Miikka Korja (HUS), moderated by Erkki Soini (ESiOR). Lauri gave his insights on the role and use of health data, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics now and in the future, highlighting the opportunities and challenges present in Finland.
The Kuopio Health Insights 2024 was a great success, drawing leaders driving digital health transformations and creating positive health outcomes for people in Finland and beyond. We are looking forward to how VEIL.AI’s next-generation anonymization technology can make these transformations more feasible, secure, and trustworthy!
